Richard John Overson (born 3 June 1959) is a retired English professional footballer who played as a central defender. He and his brother, Vince, were on the books of Burnley at the same time. Richard John Overson left professional footballing and joined the police force in 1983, retiring from Thames Valley Police in 2013.
