Richard Nurse

Richard Nurse (born March 16, 1966 in Trinidad and Tobago and raised in Hamilton, Ontario) is a former Canadian Football League (CFL) wide receiver. He was selected by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 3rd round of the 1990 CFL Draft.[1]

Nurse played with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and also had a five-season career as a running back with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.[2]

In 1993, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats presented Nurse with the Charlotte Simmons Humanitarian Awarded for his donation of time and energy to the betterment of the local Hamilton community.[3]

His son, Darnell Nurse, was selected in the first round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers.[4]
