Richard John Hounslow[1] (born 19 December 1981 in Harrow, London) is a British slalom canoeist who has competed in the K-1 category since the late 1990s. Since 2009 he has also been competing in C-2 alongside David Florence.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London he competed in the K-1 event (finishing 12th in the semifinals) as well as the C-2 event where he won the silver medal.

Hounslow won seven medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with a gold (C-2: 2013), a silver (K-1 team: 2009) and five bronzes (C-2: 2010; C-2 team: 2009, 2011, 2013; K-1 team: 2014). He also won 7 medals at the European Championships (2 golds, 2 silvers and 3 bronzes).

In 2012, Richard Hounslow won the C2 gold at the World Cup race in Cardiff along with David Florence.[2]

Personal and early life

Hounslow represented Harrow in the London Youth Games.[3] He was inducted into the London Youth Games Hall of Fame in 2012. Outside of canoeing, Hounslow is a Tottenham Hotspur supporter.[4]
