Richard Fielder

Richard Fielder (born 1758 in East Malling, Kent; died 1826 in Gravesend, Kent) was an English professional cricketer who made 20 known appearances in major cricket matches between 1790 and 1801.

Career

He was mainly associated with Kent but also represented Surrey and All-England. He was noted as "a very fine field and catch".[1]

Personal life

Fielder was a horse trainer who, in 1792, eloped with a Miss Cage, of Milgate, near Maidstone. Apparently she was one of his riding pupils. Afterwards they kept the Woolpack Inn, near Tenterden.[1]
