Richard Evans (designer)

Richard Evans (born 30 March 1945, Wilmslow, Cheshire, England) studied fashion design at Nottingham School of Art and graphic design at Leicester College of Art. He worked as a graphic designer in the 1970s at Hipgnosis studio, designers of many famous rock album covers. Evans has produced covers and designs for many artistes including The Doors, Public Image Limited, Nik Kershaw, Robert Plant, Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, World Party, Bill Wyman and Van Morrison, plus designs for a diverse range of musical genres. He is mostly known for his work for The Who, with whom he has worked since 1976, including the cover for Endless Wire (2006), their first studio album in 24 years and the design for The Who's fiftieth anniversary tour logo and album The Who Hits 50! (2015).

Richard Evans is the author of The Art of the Album Cover, published in 2010.[1]
