Ricardo Ffrench-Davis (born June 27, 1936) is a Chilean Economist. He is Professor of the Department of Economics and the Instituto de Estudios Internacionales at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.

Together with a few other Chilean students he got the chance to study at the University of Chicago in the 1950s. Those students were later named Chicago Boys. He earned his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago in 1971. Back in Chile he graduated as Commercia Engineer at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. From 1964 to 1970 he was Deputy Manager of the Central Bank of Chile. He was Co-founder of the think tank Center for Economic Research on Latin America (CIEPLAN) were he worked as Vice-President from 1976 to 1990. 1990 to 1992 he was Director of Research of the Central Bank of Chile. From 1992 to 2004 he was Principal Regional Adviser at United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean.[1][2]

He was awarded the Chilean National Prize for the Humanities and Social Sciences in 2005.[3]
