Ri Kwang-Chon (born 4 September 1985) is a North Korean international football player. He currently plays for Pattaya United in Thailand.

He played an integral part of the North Korea team that qualified for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Club career

Ri Kwang-Chon played for Amrokgang in the DPR Korea League. He helped them to win the League title in 2002 and was one of the longest serving players of the team. In 2012, Ri Kwang Chon was chosen to join Chinese side Tianjin Teda but had problems with the work permit. Although not joining a Chinese team, Ri Kwang-Chon eventually joined Muangthong United F.C. in Thailand.[1] Before the end of the 2014 Thai Premier League Ri Kwang-Chon was released from Muangthong United, due to the fact that he can't break through to the team's starting XI. After his release from Muangthong, Ri returned to North Korea to play for his former club April 25.

International career

Cha has been a part of the National team since 2001, and has won 58 caps, scoring 1 goal. He is also part of the Korean defence that qualified for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.[2] He is current captain of DPR Korea national football team.
