Rhianna Hannah Louise Kenny (born 1983, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England)[1] professionally known as Rhianna, is an English R&B singer.
Early life
Born to David and Linda Kenny, Rhianna started her career as a backing vocalist for her brother's band, LSK, but she later dropped out and went solo in her twenties. [1]
Music
Solo career (2002–2005)
She signed a recording contract with Sony Music to record her debut album, Get On.[1] Rhianna was initially successful in the UK and Ireland with her first single "Oh Baby" reaching Number 18 on the UK Singles Chart.[2] However, her second single "Word Love" failed to reach the Top 40 and the third, "I Love Every Little Thing About You," missed the Top 75 altogether. When the album Get On[3][4] also failed to reach the UK Albums Chart Top 75 it effectively ended her solo career.
Rhianna supported Beverley Knight on her 2003–2004 Who I Am UK tour and was the backing vocalist for trip hop act Faithless during their live performances in 2005.
Fleurona (2006–2009)
After her solo career came to an abrupt end, Rhianna formed a band called 'Fleurona', which played many genres of music such as pop, alternative and experimental. The band did not release any material but recorded a few tracks. Fleurona disbanded for unknown reasons.
Little Fix (2010-present)
Rhianna is part of a duo, Little Fix. Rhianna and Bill Laurence (co-founder of the band), met on stage. They have recorded a handful of songs: "Human Love", "Into Your Arms" and "No More Than Now".
(2012-present)
Rhianna Kenny sings vocals for singer/songwriter Lianna La Havas.
