Rezvani Automotive Designs (RAD) is an automotive design and manufacturer of high-performance supercars based in Irvine, California.[3][4][5] RAD was founded by Ferris Rezvani, a designer involved with Vencer’s Sarthe super-car.[6] It has released a design for the Rezvani Beast,[7] a self funded project by Rezvani.[8]
RAD's Beast was designed by Rezvani[1] and Samir Sadikhov, a designer from Azerbaijan[9] who has worked on cars for Aston Martin, Ferrari[10][7] and DBC.[11] The Beast aims to deliver a driving experience like piloting a fighter jet. RAD's vehicle production is done in a 50,000-square-foot facility RAD is operating in Santa Ana, California.[8]
Beast
RAD was founded in 2014 by Ferris Rezvani. In June of that year, RAD introduced the RAD BEAST supercar based on the Ariel Atom[10] that uses the Ariel Atom chassis[12][13] with a lightweight carbon fiber body.[14][15] It is American-made using several British built Ariel Atom parts.[10] The car has a six-speed manual transmission with a rear-wheel layout.[16] The windshield is removable[17][18] and the car weighs 1,470 pounds.[1] The upgraded version, the Beast 500, weighs 1,550 pounds.[19] The custom production uses custom fit[9] 3D printing and CNC milling technology[11] for an estimated 1,500 labor hours of work.[7] CNC routing is used to make a 3D version of the car. The 3D print is used as a mold for the carbon fiber panels.[20][5] Advanced 3D printers create other parts of the vehicle such as lights and mirrors.[20] Each built-to-order car will take RAD six to eight months to build.[8] The first Beast will be delivered to an owner in Texas.[21]
Rezvani will release two versions of the Beast, 2.0-liter turbo and beefier 2.4-liter supercharged motor.[22]
