Restaurant Stakeout is an American reality television series on the Food Network. The series debuted on March 12, 2012, with the second season premiering on August 29, 2012.[1] It is one of the first non-studio shows attempted on Food Network.[2]
Plot
The series follows New York City restaurant owner William Jack "Willie" Degel, who goes behind the scenes of various restaurants across the country with hidden cameras to examine their food service problems with the owner(s).[3]
Once Willie has seen a variety of key issues, the owner(s) will hold a staff meeting that Willie will appear at and confront them about the various key issues. After that is done, Willie would return the next day to help the owner(s) improve the restaurant and get the staff back in line. The show differs from other similar shows in that it blames the staff for all the problems. Unlike Kitchen Nightmares, there's never a problem with the food, the cleanliness, the menu, or the decor, and the owner's only fault is being too easy on the staff.
