Resonance Kota

Resonance Eduventures Pvt. Ltd. is a privately held and incorporated company valued at 8.5 billion (US$190 million).^[1] It is an IITJEE Coaching Institute (Test Preparation) in India. It was established on April 11, 2001 by Mr. Ram Kishan Verma, an IIT Madras graduate (1994).^[2] It is headquartered in Kota, Rajasthan.

Resonance is a coaching institute for JEE erstwhile (IIT-JEE/AIEEE), AIPMT exams for students of classes 9 to 12. It also offers coaching to students of classes 7–10 as Pre-Foundation Career Care Program (PCCP) for preparing for exams like National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) and various international science, mathematics, chemistry and physics Olympiads.

Resonance has study centers ^[3] in Agra, Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Aurangabad, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandrapur, Delhi, Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Kota, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik, Patna, Raipur, Rajkot, Ranchi, Sikar, Surat, Udaipur, Vadodara and Visakhapatnam.

In 2009-10 Resonance got a private equity infusion ^[4] of 600 million from Milestone-Religare Private Equity Fund.

On September 28, 2011, Resonance received its second round of funding of 1 billion ^[5][6] (US$21.8 million) from CLSA for 12% stake, putting the valuation of company at 8.5 billion.

Brief History

Resonance was founded on 11th April, 2001 by Mr. R.K. Verma, B.Tech, Electrical and Electronics from IIT Madras. Coming from an obscure town to becoming the top educationist in the field of education, enabling students from all part of the country to realize their dreams of IIT, Mr. R.K. Verma has indeed come a long way.

The institute is having its own Study Centres which are offering Classroom Programmes for IIT-JEE at Kota, Jaipur (2005), Bhopal (2007), Delhi (2008), Lucknow (2008), Kolkata (2008), Nagpur (2008), Mumbai (2008), Udaipur (2010), Bengaluru (2010) and Bhubaneswar (2010), Ahmedabad (2010), Patna (2011), Visakhapatnam (2011). These Study Centres are not franchisees. They are established and managed by Resonance, Kota.

The institute has also entered into associations with some of the reputed schools across the country for the Integrated In-School Classroom Contact Programmes for the preparation of IIT-JEE.

Resonance formally launched its Distance Learning Programmes through its DLP Division during the Academic Session 2005-06 looking at the need of students who can not leave their native places for education.

Resonance launched its Pre-Foundation Career Care Programmes (PCCP) Division in 2006.

The Institute has diversified its portfolio by launching AIEEE & AIPMT division in the Academic Session 2010-11. Apart from coaching for competitive examination, the Institute is also offering programmes for the students of Class VII to X who appear in Talent Search Examinations like National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), International Olympiads conducted by various Government and Private Organizations. ^[7]

Results

Resonance has shown excellent progress in results of JEE (Mains and Advanced), earlier known as JEE. From 161 results in 2002 to 4105 results in 2014, Resonance has always given better results every year.^[8]

In JEE Advanced 2014, a total 1916 students from the Resonance Kota center (including classroom & correspondence courses) and 4105 students across India were selected for the IITs. ^[9]

After setting up its pre-medical division in 2010-11 for AIPMT and AIIMS preparation. 414 students were selected from Resonance in 2014 AIPMT. ^[10]

Entry Procedure

Resonance conducts an internal exam ResoNet (Resonance National Entrance Test) to select students for the classroom programs. Outstanding performers also get a scholarship ^[12]
