The Republican Party is a political party in the U.S. Virgin Islands. It was founded in 1948 by a committee led by Roy Gordon as a successor to the Republican Club of the Virgin Islands founded in 1924 by Adolph Achille Gereau. At the elections, 7 November 2006, the party won no seats.
As of May 2014, it has no full-time staff, had held no meetings for two years and less than 2% of the money it had raised had gone to the party. Most of the money raised is spent on more fundraising to benefit fundraising companies, mostly based in Northern Virginia.[1]
