Remians
Remians are the graduates of Dhaka Residential Model College, a renowned college of Bangladesh.[1][2] Students who studied in Dhaka Residential Model College are called Remians. It is a very prestigious designation held by the graduates of DRMC. The Remians have an organization named ORWA which means Old Remians Welfare Association. From times immemorial, Remians have been playing a vital role in the development of Bangladesh. Many of the Government Officers, Doctors, Scientists, Engineers, Army Officers, Professors are Remians. Shawfikul Ghani (#117) was a member of parliament in 1979, 1986 and 1988. He was a state minister for defense, civil aviation and tourism in 1986 and then became a full Minister for Public Works in 1988.
- Sheikh Jamal, second son of the founding leader of Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and slain brother of the current Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.[3] He was a valiant freedom fighter of Bangladesh Liberation War.[4]
- Tareq Zia, a notable politician and Senior Joint Secretary-General of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). He is the son of former President of Bangladesh, the late Major General Ziaur Rahman and Khaleda Zia, a former Prime Minister of Bangladesh.[5]
- Shamsher Mubin Chowdhury, former Foreign Secretary of the Government of Bangladesh.[6][7]
- Abdun Nur Tushar, media personality, TV presenter and the president of Bangladesh Debate Federation.[8][9]
