Reed Krakoff (born 1964) is a New York City fashion designer and former executive creative director of Coach, Inc.
Biography
Krakoff was raised in Weston, Connecticut, the son of a corporate executive. He graduated from the Parsons School of Design. After school, he worked at Ralph Lauren Corporation for five years and then took a job as creative director at Tommy Hilfiger Corporation.[1] In 1996, Coach’s Lew Frankfort hired Krakoff,[2] and gave him control of Coach’s products, advertising, store design, and merchandising. He grew the company from a 500 million USD a year to a 4 billion company[3]. In 2010, he launched his own exclusive brand,[4] Reed Krakoff,[1] appointing Valérie Hermann as head of the brand.[5] from Saint Laurent Couture.
In April 2013, he announced he would leave Coach to focus on developing the Reed Krakoff label.[6][7]
Personal life
He is married to Paris-born Delphine Krakoff, an interior decorator.[1][8] They have four children.[8][9] He is also a photographer, who has published several of his works including The Fighters of the UFC and Women in Art. He is also known for having bought the Lasata girlhood home of Jackie Onassis in 2006.[10]
