Reds United F.C.

Reds United was a football team from Dublin in the Irish Free State. The team was formed by people involved with Shelbourne after a disagreement with the Football Association of Ireland during the 1933/34 season, Shelbourne resigned from the League of Ireland at the season's end. The FAI responded by banning Shels from football for one year. As a result, with Shels out of football for the 1934/35 season, Reds United competed in the Leinster Senior League.

When Shels one-year ban was lifted they competed in the Athletic Union League for the 1935/36 season while Reds United joined the League of Ireland along with Brideville.

At the end of the 1935/36 season, in which Reds United finished fourth, they resigned their membership of the League of Ireland to allow Shelbourne to take their place.

Reds United played their home League of Ireland games at Glenmalure Park in Milltown.

Reds United top scorer during their only season in the League of Ireland was William 'Louy' Ouchterlonie with twenty goals - the third highest in the whole league that season.
