Razah's Ladder is a collaborative album from American instrumental hip hop duo Blue Sky Black Death and rapper Hell Razah, a member of Wu-Tang Clan affiliates Sunz of Man and Black Market Militia. It was released on Babygrande Records in 2007.
Background
Production is handled entirely by BSBD members Kingston and Young God, with vocals provided by Hell Razah. Guests appearances come from Crooked I, former Non Phixion members Ill Bill and Sabac Red, and Razah's fellow Sunz of Man members Prodigal Sunn and Shabazz the Disciple.
The album title refers to the Bible story of Jacob's Ladder. Razah stated the album "reps me escalating in my career", and will lead-in to his next solo project, titled Heaven Razah. After the recent death of his father, Razah decided to take the album in a deeper, spiritual direction.[3] Blue Sky Black Death stated that the album's production is not as dark or as sinister as the production on their last project with Wu-Tang affiliate Holocaust, calling it an "uplifting album" with more soulful beats requested by Razah.[4]
Release
Blue Sky Black Death stated that there would be no singles released from the album, calling them "obsolete" for underground artists. Instead the entire project was released on vinyl as well as CD.[4]
