Rayat Bahra University (formerly Rayat & Bahra Institute of Engineering and Biotechnology, Kharar (RBIEBT)) is an private University in the vicinity of Greater Mohali, Punjab.[1][2] It is situated in 60 acres and is at an approximate distance of 12 km from Chandigarh.
The Rayat and Bahra Institute of Engineering and Biotechnology (RBIEBT) was affiliated to Punjab Technical University, offering Engineering Courses at undergraduate and Graduate level, leading to B.Tech and M.Tech degrees. RBU is part of the Rayat Bhara Group and is among other Campuses of Rayat Bahra Group of Institutes., which includes two Universities. It also has a centre of excellence (automotive cluster).
Rayat and Bahra Institute of Engineering and Information Technology came into existence in the year 2005.At the time of inception three B.Tech. Programmes in the areas of Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Information Technology were introduced. Subsequently, B.Tech. programmes in Mechanical Engineering and Electronics and computer Engineering and M.Tech programmes in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering were added all affiliated to the Punjab Technical University. It occupies an area of 60 acres. The courses offered by the institute are approved by AICTE.
