Ravi Dubey (pronounced [rəʋiː d̪ʊbeː]; born 23 December 1983) is an Indian model, comedian, presenter, dancer and actor, working in television shows. He studied Telecom engineering in Mumbai after which he worked in modeling. Dubey began his acting career in 2006 with a parallel leading role in DD National TV show Stree... Teri Kahaani.

Dubey followed it with roles in lesser successful shows like Doli Saja Ke (2007) and Yahan Ke Hum Sikandar (2007), before starring in Vipul D. Shah's highly successful family drama show Saas Bina Sasural (2010).

Dubey began hosting with few Red Carpet Events, then he started hosting in television shows with Star Plus television's dance reality show India's Dancing Superstar. He also hosted a grand finale episode of a cookry show MasterChef India 3.

Dubey has also worked in several television commercial ads include, Reliance India Mobile, Nestle.

Dubey has done an episodic role in Teri Meri Love Stories and Yeh Hai Aashiqui. He also done reality shows like, Comedy Circus', Nach Baliye, MasterChef India 3 and India's Dancing Superstar.

Currently Dubey is playing the male lead in Zee television's family drama series Jamai Raja as Siddharth Khurana, for which he won Zee Rishtey Award for Favourite Jamai and received several nominations.

Early life

Dubey was born on 23 December[2] 1983[3] in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh and brought up in Delhi, India.[4][5] Dubey came to Mumbai from Delhi to study telecom engineering, Then he starred his career with modeling.[6][7]

Dubey was dating Sargun Mehta, his co-star from the soap opera 12/24 Karol Bagh, The couple met on the set of the show, After ended the show the couple started dating.[8][9] On 5 February 2013, Dubey proposed her on the dance reality show Nach Baliye 5, where they both were the contestants of the show.[10] He got married on 7 December 2013.[11] The reception was held in Mumbai on 13 December.[12]

Dubey started his career as a model,[13] Then Dubey started his acting career in 2006 with the parallel lead role of Arjun Dwivedi in DD National television show Stree... Teri Kahaani, which was produced by actors Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu.[14] Later he portrayed a small role of Veer in Sahara One's soap opera Doli Saja Ke.[15] Thereafter he was appeared as the male lead in Yahan Ke Hum Sikandar, where he played the role of Ravi.[15]

Dubey has done up to 40 television commercial ads, include Reliance, TVS Victor, Mrs. Marino, Gee Pee Mobile, Nestle, ICICI, Action Milano Shoes, Fairever, Santro, Water Kingdom.[16][17]

On December 2008, Dubey replace Vinay Rohrra for portraying the male lead in Zee television's show Ranbir Rano.[18][17] After ended the show, Dubey was cast opposite Sargun Mehta in Zee television's soap opera 12/24 Karol Bagh.[19]

On October 2010, Dubey featured opposite Aishwarya Sakhuja for Sony Entertainment Television's romantic/drama show Saas Bina Sasural, in which he portrayed the male lead role of Tej Prakash Chaturvedi.[20] While working in the show, Dubey starred his film career in Bollywood, he signed Aron Govil's 2011 Hindi film U R My Jaan.[21]

On January 2012, Dubey participated in Sony Entertainment Television's reality-based comedy series of Comedy Circus titled, Kahani Comedy Circus Ki. Dubey said, "I am super excited as I have always loved the show. So far I have never had the opportunity to try my hands at comedy, which I believe is the toughest of all".[22]

On December 2012, Dubey participated in the fifth season of Star Plus television's celebrity couple dance reality show Nach Baliye, along with Sargun Mehta. And on 23 March 2013 a finale episode, He become the first runner-up of show.[23][24] Dubey also participated in Nach Baliye's another celebrity couple dance reality series titled, Nach Baliye Shriman v/s Shrimati in 2013.[25]

On May 2013, Dubey starred to hosting television shows, He replace Mohit Malhotra to host Star Plus television's dance reality show India's Dancing Superstar.[26][27]

On September 2013 he was approached for the lead role of Rajbir in Rashmi Sharma's show Desh Ki Beti Nandini, but he was out of the show.[28]

On March 2014, Dubey roped for the male lead in Zee television's soap opera Jamai Raja, in which he playing the role of Siddharth "Sid" Khurana opposite Nia Sharma, the show produced by actor Akshay Kumar and co-produced by Ashvini Yardi, under their own production Grazing Goat Pictures.[29]

On December 2014, Dubey hosted an award event of Zee televisions', Zee Rishtey Awards, along with Shabbir Ahluwalia.[30]

On 15 June 2011, Dubey gave a dance performance at the awards ceremony of Zee televisions', Zee Gold Awards.[31]

On 25 December 2011, Dubey gave a special performance on a New Year's special episode of Sony television's reality based comedy show Comedy Circus, he performed along with Aishwarya Sakhuja on a salsa dance form.[32]

On 28 March 2012, Dubey attended the launch party of UTV Stars show Walk of the Stars, along with Sargun Mehta and Rakshanda Khan at Olive in Mumbai, India.[33] Dubey appeared along with Shweta Salve at Indian Television Academy's ramp show Fashion Ka Jalwa, The show was held on 21 October 2012 at Filmcity in Mumbai, India.[34]

Dubey gave a special appearance with his mother in Star Plus television's Mothers special show titled Meri Maa, where he presented a unique act to salute the spirit of motherhood on May 2013.[35] On 18 June 2013, Dubey attended the music launch party of 2013 Hindi film Issaq at Mumbai, India, along with Sargun Mehta.[36]

Dubey appeared as a guest in NGO event, The event was held at Inorbit Mall in Mumbai on 11 August 2013.[37] In 2014, Dubey appeared at an award function Gadoya Holdings GR8! Women Awards, The 4th award function was held at The Sofitel Palms, Dubai.[38] On 29 December 2013, Dubey gave a special dance appearance in kids special season of Sony Entertainment Television's dance reality show Boogie Woogie.[39] On 15 February 2014, Dubey appeared as a guest in Pinky Bua's wedding in Colors TV's reality comedy/talk show Comedy Nights with Kapil.[40]
