Rashid Ali Hadj Matumla (born June 26, 1968 in Tanga) is a retired male boxer from Tanzania, who represented his native East African country in three consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1988 (Seoul). He was nicknamed Snakeboy during his career. Matumla also competed at two Commonwealth Games: 1994 and 1998 was the ever first Tanzanian Boxer to win World Champion in the Light Welterweight at Diamond Jubilee Hall after defeating the Boxer from Germany. Matumla now lives at Keko suburb in Dar es Salaam. Recently his son Mohamed Matumla defeated a Chinese Boxer qualifying for the May wheather and Manny Pac fight, however news spilled over newspapers that probably Mahamed Matumla may not be one of the pre-fighters for May vs Pac on 2nd May 2015
