Ranil Mallawarachchi is a popular,[1] well-known,[2] singer from Sri Lanka.
He is the son of musician Milton Mallawarachchi. Following his fathers foot steps he shot in to fame among the young music fans. In 1996 he did a song with his father, May Lowa Gemburui, for his maiden album.
He started his pre-schooling when he was at the age of four. He later enrolled at Nalanda College in Colombo. In 1998 his father died; after that Mallawarachchi's music career was changed, because producers invited him to sing his fathers famous songs under their trade marks.
