Rania is a town and a municipal committee (Nagar Palika) in Sirsa district in the Indian state of Haryana. Rania Town is the biggest grain market in Sirsa district.
Geography
It is situated at the end of Haryana state on Sirsa-JeewanNagar Road. Rania is located at 29°32′N 74°50′E / 29.53°N 74.83°E.[1] Both Delhi and Chandigarh appx 270 km, are nearer Major Airports from here. The nearest railway station is at Sirsa. Sirsa city is approximately 23 km east from Rania. Other nearby cities of Home Distt are Ellenabad(22 km), Mandi Dabwali (55 km) & Mandi Kalanwali (40 km). Punjab & Rajasthan borders are respectively appx 35 & 25 km from Rania. Few other famous villages and places near to town are JeewanNagar, Kariwala, SantNagar (Jagmalera), Chautala, Balasar Farm, and Sultan Puria Ottu Dam. It is a town-like village.
History
Rania has its own history to named Rania, it means Queens. Its old name was 'Bhattian'. Bhatti Raja (king) used to rule here for a while and ruled in nearby villages and areas as well. It is renamed for being Satee by Rania (Queen) of Bhattian Riasayat's King on a rumour of king been killed in nearby village. Rania was an old Muslim town, Inhabitants from here left Town during Indo-Pak partition, as per significance many buildings could be seen in town like old Muslim Mosques and nice old fort which has been used till now as police station building. Rania town was a part of old Punjab Region & came into Haryana in 1966.

Rania Town's population is about 40,000. Municipality system runs in town and it is divided into 15 wards, Rania have separate Vidhan Sabha constituency as Rania Seat first time from 2009 Assembly elections. People enjoying here every facility same like average cities. Rania have its own shopping areas, Tehsil, Police Station, Civil Hospital, Private Nursing Homes, Government and private schools. A good bus system of Private Limited & Roadways buses is available for nearby towns and villages.
The main forms of employment are in agriculture and retail. Wheat, vegetables, rice, and cotton, are the main crops in the region. The grain market of Rania is famous for quality basmati rice. A lot of people are involved in this business.

Punjabi, Hindi and Bagri are the main spoken languages in this locality. Basically people believe in Sikh and Hindu religions.
