Rangrasiya is an Indian television serial which on Colors TV from 30 December 2013 through 19 September 2014. It was produced by Tequila Shots Production. The series initially followed the love story of Parvati (Sanaya Irani), a woman living in a village, and a Border Suraksha Dhal (BSD) officer Rudra (Ashish Sharma). While Paro believes in love, Rudra hates anyone who invests in that emotion, yet they get attracted to each other. Rangrasiya has been shot extensively across arid terrains and rann of Jaisalmer and dunes of Jodhpur.[2]

Plot summary

Paro like everyone else in the village, hates the BSD officers believing they are responsible for her parents death. Brought up by her maternal aunt and Thakurain (Sadiya Siddiqui), Paro's marriage is arranged with Varun (Vishal Gandhi), a boy from a neighboring village. Thakur Tejawat (Tarun Khanna) is behind the arrangement. While Varun makes Paro believe he is loyal and honest, his real intentions are not. Involved with Tejawat in an illegal business of weapons, Varun plans to smuggle weapons across the border with the baraat. The wedding happens but Varun and Tejawat's plan is unsuccessful as Rudra finds out and shoots Varun which Paro sees. Oblivious of the real reason, Paro holds Rudra responsible for her husband's death and begins to hate him.

Rudra takes Paro captive and holds her at the BSD headquarters, waiting for her to acknowledge her involvement in the smuggling. When Rudra senses danger to Paro at the headquarters, he moves her to his house. Lying to his family to keep her honor safe, Rudra's father proclaims Paro as Rudra's fiancee. Paro befriends Mathili (Geetanjali Mishra). As days pass, Paro finds out about Rudra's past with his mother and begins to have sympathy, unaware that his mother is the same woman who raised her (Thakhurain). On her wedding day to Rudra, Paro finds out the truth about Varun and Tejawat's real intentions. She flees and falls in love with Rudra. Having learnt the truth about Thakhurain, Paro sets out to reunite Rudra with his real mother.

Trouble begins when Varun's brother Shanthanu Kumar (Vishal Karwal) comes for revenge against Rudra for killing his brother. Paro gives birth to a boy and Shanthanu, who was jailed, comes to kill Paro. Rudra runs to save her but he's too late. Paro dies.

Rangrasiya took a seven year leap on 31 July 2014.[3] Rudra is a single father to seven-year-old Dhruv and is currently working as a BSD Security Officer. On a new assignment, Rudra is appointed as the bodyguard to the modern and fun-loving girl Myrah Mehra(Sanaya Irani). Myrah has come to Udaipur from the U.S. to pick a venue for her wedding to friend Rohit. Despite the contrary personalities, Myrah looks exactly like Paro, leaving Rudra shocked. He tries to keep away from her and this results in him being rude to her, which sparks hatred between them. While in Rudra's house, Myrah unknowingly falls in love with Rudra. They fight on many issues until one day, Rudra finally admits he's wrong and says he's sorry and offers to become friends with Myrah, who accepts. One day, searching for her bridal dress, Myrah comes across thieves. Rudra stops them from stealing her purse and sends them away. It angers her when Rudra says she is his responsibility. The two sellers come back with an even more evil intent asking Myrah to see the clothes in their shop. She agrees, deciding not to tell Rudra as she is going because she doesn't want to be dominated by him. Myrah gets kidnapped and Rudra saves her (during this time Rudra remembers how he was late to save Paro). Rudra calls out "Paro" after he saves Myrah, who is shocked to hear that name again. Under the influence of a medicine, she calls Rudra "Major Saab" and kisses him. Unable to fight his attraction to Myrah, Rudra also reciprocates but is interrupted by Maithili who warns him to stay away from her as she is to get married within a few days and his attraction to her would lead to nothing as she is not Paro. When Myrah starts to accept her feelings for Rudra, he tell her that he hates her because she is a lookalike of "Paro". Heartbroken, Myrah decides to leave Rudra's haveli but stops as Dhruv had a severe fever. Her fiancé arrives, making Rudra jealous. Rohit gets irritated seeing Myrah involved in Rudra's personal matters. Rudra sees Paro in his dream where asks him to move on in his life and to find his love and says "So , I (Paro) sent Myrah to you so accept her". On that night, Rudra gets drunk and tells Myrah that he loves her. She says she is not his Paro but Rudra loves her for herself. Myrah is confused. The next morning, Myrah gives a hung-over Rudra some lemonade. Rudra asks her to say that she loves him. She says she will marry Rohit as promised. Rohit says that their marriage will be held the next day, but Myrah doesn't feel ready. That night, Rudra writes a letter saying he won't attend because he doesn't have the strength to watch. Myrah sees this and asks her heart to choose between Rudra and Rohit, and shoots a video and sends it to Rohit. Finally Rohit sees the video that Myrah has sent him. Rudra comes home and Rohit asks Myrah to go to her love Rudra. Myrah and Rudra confess their love.
