Ranburne is located near the southeast corner of Cleburne County at 33°31′31″N 85°20′36″W / 33.525372°N 85.343257°W.[2]

As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 459 people, 186 households, and 137 families residing in the town. The population density was 289.9 people per square mile (112.2/km²). There were 211 housing units at an average density of 133.2 per square mile (51.6/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 100.00% White. 0.00% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 186 households out of which 31.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.1% were married couples living together, 5.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.3% were non-families. 24.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
