Ramón Luis Rivera, Jr. is a Puerto Rican politician affiliated with the New Progressive Party.[1]
He is the current Mayor of Bayamón.[1] His father was politician Ramon Luis Rivera, the previous mayor of Bayamón.
In 2000, Rivera Jr.'s father, Ramon Luis Rivera, announced that he would not run for mayor again after having been in office since 1977. Rivera, Jr. announced his candidacy for the mayor's office and was elected as mayor in November 2000. He has been re-elected three more times.
Before being a mayor, Rivera served as a member of the Senate of Puerto Rico for the District of Bayamón from 1996 to 2000.
