Ralph Lainson

Ralph Lainson OBE, FRS is a British parasitologist.

Life

He studied at Steyning Grammar School. He earned a BSc from London University in 1951, and a PhD in 1955 and DSc in 1964. He was a lecturer in the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, from 1955 to 1959.

He directed the Wellcome Parasitology Unit, in the Instiruto Evandro Chagas, Belém, Brazil from 1965 to 1992.[1]

He was awarded the Chalmers Medal and Manson Medal, of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. [2]
