Rakuten LinkShare Corporation, now Rakuten Affiliate Network, provides eCommerce businesses with affiliate marketing services. Rakuten Affiliate Network clients include Macy's, Walmart, Vince Camuto, Sportscraft, and Viator.
The Rakuten LinkShare network is touted by the company as the largest pay for performance affiliate marketing network on the Internet.[1]
History
The Rakuten LinkShare Corporation (Rakuten LinkShare) was founded in 1996 by Stephen Messer and Heidi Messer and is headquartered in New York City, with offices in San Francisco, Chicago, Tampa, Tokyo and London. Rakuten acquired LinkShare in 2005. Rakuten LinkShare was re-branded to Rakuten Affiliate Network in 2014.
Ownership
Rakuten LinkShare Corporation is the wholly owned U.S. division of Rakuten, Inc., a Japanese shopping portal.[2] Rakuten acquired LinkShare in 2005 for $425 Million in cash.[3]
