Rai Hassan Nawaz is one of the most influential politicians in Sahiwal, a district in Punjab province of Pakistan.He is currently the member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf led by crickter turned politician Imran Khan. He is a sitting Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan (NA-162 Chichawatni). He has had an impeccably successful political career and to this date and has only lost one election – December 2012 By-Election. He has been elected as the chairman of MC, Chichawatni in 1988 and as MPA of Punjab Assembly in 1988,1990 and 1997. He became the DistrictNazim of the District of Sahiwal twice in a row. The second time after defeating PML Q's government single-handedly. Rai Hassan Nawaz has twice been District Nazim of Sahiwal and still a key player in Politics of Sahiwal.

Family

Rai Hassan Nawaz is the youngest child of Rai Muhammad Iqbal. His eldest brother Rai Ahmed Nawaz was elected as MNA in 1985, 1988 and 1997 . His second brother, Rai Ali Nawaz was also elected as the Chairman of MC,Chichawatni in 1979, 1983 and 1985. He was also elected as MPA of “Punjab Assembly” and became a Minister. Rai Hassan Nawaz entered the political arena after the accidental death of his brother, Rai Ali Nawaz.
