Raffles Resort Canouan Island

Raffles Resort Canouan Island is a luxury hotel owned by the international hotel chain known as Raffles Hotels and Resorts and is one of two resorts on the Caribbean island of Canouan (though a third is on the way). The resort is set on 300 acres (1.2 km2) of a 1,200-acre (4.9 km2) private estate that includes three secluded beaches that are surrounded by one of the world’s largest coral reefs. Raffles Canouan actually occupies a 1/3 of the island that was previously uninhabited.

Raffles Resort Canouan Island is situated on a hill that overlooks the northern Grenadines and is home to the Trump Club Privee, a European styled casino as well as La Varenne – a European Gourmet restaurant and a ballroom. The resort has received praise from BRIDE’s Magazine, Condé Nast Traveler, Robb Report, and has been nominated for 3 World Travel Awards. One of the biggest attractions on the island that is a part of the resort is Trump International Golf Club, an 18 hole championship golf course that spans the island. This golf club was declared the best Golf club in 2005 by Robb Report and presents a fairly unique golfing experience on the tiny island.

The resort features 156 rooms in total all of which the company claims have ‘breathtaking views’. The hotel also stands as a venue for weddings though there is a list of prerequisites in order for a marriage to take place on the island. The resort itself has become a large part of the island probably because it covers so much of the island. The resort has been classified as 5 Star and the response to the resort has generally been favorable as evidenced by reviews on travel sites such as Trip Advisor where Raffles Resort Canouan Island has been rated 4 out 5.
