Radlett railway station is in the Hertsmere district of Hertfordshire, England and lies on the Midland Main Line and is served by Thameslink trains on the cross-London Thameslink route.
East Midlands Trains InterCity services from Leeds, Sheffield and Leicester run through at high speed, but do not stop. Interchange with InterCity services can be made at Luton and St Pancras International.
It was built by the Midland Railway in 1868 on its extension to St. Pancras. The original intention had been to call it Aldenham. In the early twentieth century, Walter Phillimore, who owned Radlett, built a large number of houses, one of the first 'commuter villages'.[1]
The station has a PlusBus scheme where train and bus tickets can be bought together for a cheaper price.
Services
Mondays to Fridays there are 4tph at off-peak times, more at peak times. At weekends, there are 2tph to West Hampstead, with evening services running into St Pancras International. From March 2009 FCC started running a peak service to Sevenoaks, however during the day they terminate then at Kentish Town. Night services run between Bedford-Brighton/Three Bridges/Gatwick Airport.
From March 2009, Southeastern and Thameslink began running some peak hour trains from Kent to Luton and Bedford,[2] though in the off-peak these services only go as far north as West Hampstead. Additional trains from destinations across the larger Thameslink network may call at the station from 2015. [3]
