Radmila "Rada" Manojlović (Serbian Cyrillic: Радмила "Рада" Манојловић) (born August 25, 1985 in Požarevac, Serbia, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Serbian pop-folk singer. Growing up in the village of Četereže, she started singing in clubs and at weddings all over Serbia (in order to earn enough money for her family, who had financial difficulties) as soon as she finished her primary school education. During her high school education, she was one of the best students. Manojlović holds a degree in economics from the University of Kragujevac.
As a singer
In 2004, she entered the contest called “Zvezde Granda” (“The Stars of Grand”), which is one of the biggest contests for young folk and pop singers in Serbia (the contest itself resembles “Pop Idol”). She came to the semi-final, but did not succeed to reach the final. However, in 2007, she gave it one more try, and that was probably the best decision of her life. She came second in the final, and became one of the most popular Serbian folk singers. Her first song was released on the album of the 12 finalists and semi-finalists of “Zvezde Granda”, and it is called “Nikada više” /”Never again”/ (2007). With her second song, called “Bole ove usne neverne” /”These unfaithful lips hurt”/, she competed at “Grand festival” (2008), the biggest festival of Serbian folk music). Both songs have become enormously popular in ex-Yugoslavian countries, whereas “Nikada više” was declared the song of the year 2007.
Her first album was released in June 2009. The songs that have become most popular are “Rođendan” /“Birthday”/, “Deset ispod nule” /“Ten below the zero”/ and “50 puta” /“50 times”/.
