Rackets & Rivals is a tennis-themed sports game developed by Konami for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), and published by Palcom (a Konami brand) in 1993.

Rackets & Rivals is one of a minority of NES software titles to support up to four simultaneous players with the NES Satellite or NES Four Score video game accessories.

Gameplay

Rackets & Rivals offers a Training mode, a Free Play mode, and a Tournament mode. In Free Play, players may compete in a singles or doubles match. Training mode is similar to Free Play, except there is no scoring, so the player can focus on learning game mechanics.

In Tournament mode, the player progresses through four European tournaments of increasing difficulty: the Championship of the All European High Schools (sic), Championship of the All European Universities (sic), the Sonasonic Championship, and the Palcom Cup.

The player may also choose the handedness of the player character, and allocate statistics across five attributes: Service, Shot, Volley, Stroke, and Footwork. The player can upgrade these five attributes at intervals in Tournament mode.
