Rachel Giana Fox (born July 23, 1996) is an American teen actress and singer best known for playing Kayla Huntington in the ABC television series Desperate Housewives.

Early life

Fox was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia. She moved to Westlake, Ohio at age 4. A year later her mother put Rachel and her sister into a theater program to make sure they were comfortable with public speaking.[1] She began doing commercials and print work in Ohio and was represented by Ford Modeling Agency and The Docherty Agency. She appeared in print for American Greetings, Target, and JoAnn Fabrics. She appeared in the Lite House Pools and Spas TV commercial and various regional commercials. Fox moved to California at the age of 9. She is currently schooled at Chaminade College Preparatory.

Career

Fox has also appeared on Alias, That's So Raven, Adventures in Odyssey, iCarly and Hannah Montana. She voiced characters in the video games Ant Bully and Thrillville.

She portrayed Kayla Huntington Scavo on ABC hit show Desperate Housewives from September 2006 until May 2008 as a series regular, portraying Lynette's sociopath step-daughter.[2]

In July 2009, Fox filmed the movie Spork, which was released in 2010 which would be her first lead movie role. She also starred in Jim Sheridan's Dream House,[3] portraying Chloe Patterson, daughter of Ann and Jack Patterson (played by Naomi Watts and Marton Csokas, respectively).[4]

Fox was cast in the CBS Pilot "Vince Uncensored" and appear as a recurring character in ABC Family sitcom Melissa & Joey.

Fox is also a singer, she is producing her own album. She recently made a music video for her song iShop, singing about her favorite thing: shopping. She also produced a French version of the song after having enjoyed an experience in Paris.

Fox on Stocks, launched in 2012 and said to be Fox's stock-trading blog, describes her as "a very successful stock trader in her free time," and says that it "provides education for those wishing to learn more about investing."
