RK University
RK University is a private university[1] located at Rajkot, Gujarat, India. It had been created by the state of Gujarat under Private State University Act by a gazetted notification dated 12 October 2011, along with three other universities. Situated on Rajkot-Bhavnagar Highway, in a campus of over 40 acres, RK University has been functioning as RK Group of Colleges since 2005, offering degrees in areas of engineering, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and also in management studies. It presently has more than five thousand and five hundred students, The campus offers hostel-facilities for nearly twelve-hundred students. The Journey started with offering its flagship program in Management and Physiotherapy. Now it has many other academic disciplinary courses to offer such as Engineering, Pharmacy, computer science etc..
Inception and Campus
The Inception of RK University took place in the year 2005. RK University converted itself from Group of Colleges to A State-Private University Status in the year 2011.
The University is situated in the outskirts of Rajkot City with a sprawling and green campus of 40 acres with State of the Art infrastructure. The RK University Campus is well connected through road with GSRTC Buses, RMTS Buses and private operators plying from city. The fully residential campus offers students a peaceful and conducive study environment along with facilities like hostel, mess and canteen, indoor and outdoor sporting activities. The campus offers hostel-facilities for nearly twelve-hundred students.

RK University offers various courses in various disciplines such as Management, Engineering, Diploma studies, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Science, Computer science etc. It has strong presence in every field of academics in the Saurashtra region.
RK University has a strength of more than 300 well qualified and experienced faculties.

PhD Program
RK University offers admission to PhD program in fields of Science, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Physiotherapy, Computer Applications and Management. Post graduate candidates after clearing required admission test, are eligible to pursue their doctoral study in RK University either full-time or externally.
Events
Galore is the annual Sports and Cultural festival of the university. It is normally organized in the month of February by student and faculties. Huge number of students from various other local colleges also takes part in the festival. RK University also celebrates its foundation day every year in October. Apart from these two main events, RK University celebrates various Techno-cultural and Physio-cultural events every year. Many a times various external colleges takes part in the event, expanding its spread and scope.
Social responsibility Initiatives
RK University also engages itself in fulfilling its various social obligations by serving in many ways to the local community. Some of the initiatives undertaken by the university is listed below.

Scholarship
K. S. Patel Scholarship Awards is the Scholarship program of RK University, whereby students are benefitted by this initiative. A number of 12th science students across 1100 schools of Gujarat takes part in the program every year and gets the benefit.
