Røbekk Church (Norwegian: Røbekk kirke, Bolsøy kirke) is a parish church in Molde Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the village of Røbekk, an eastern suburb of the town of Molde. The church is part of the Bolsøy parish in the Molde arch-deanery in the Diocese of Møre. The white wooden church was built in 1898 and it seats about 400 people.[1]
History
There was a church on the island of Bolsøya for a long time, and it was the main church for the old municipality of Bolsøy. A new church was built on the mainland at Røbekk in 1898 to replace the old church on the island. That new church became the new main church for Bolsøy parish and municipality and the old church on the island was torn down in 1906. This is why Røbekk Church is also referred to as Bolsøy Church.[2]
