Quneitra District

Quneitra (or al Qunaytirah) District (Arabic: منطقة القنيطرة) is a district (mantiqah) administratively belonging to Quneitra Governorate, Syria. At the 2004 Census it had a population of 64,680.[1] Its administrative centre is the city of Quneitra.

Part of the district has been occupied by Israel since 1967, part has been in the Area of Separation buffer zone of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force Zone since 1974, and part is under Syrian control.
