The band was founded by Wilton and Rockenfield.[3]
The band played heavy metal covers, especially of Iron Maiden.[3][4]
Hovland left for living far away and not being into Iron Maiden that much.[3]
Jackson replaced Hovland on bass.[3]

The Mob
1981–1982

Lacking a lead vocalist, Geoff Tate's help was frequently called in.[3]
The Mob remained a heavy metal cover band at first.[4]
The Queensrÿche EP with original material was recorded by The Mob with Tate.[5]

Gray was fired in 2002 due to substance abuse problems.[8][9]

Tribe, Operation: Mindcrime II, and Take Cover

DeGarmo contributed to the songwriting and recording of Tribe.
Stone was fired in 2009 for making too many grand demands,[10] but it was publicly called a departure.[11]

2009–2012

Tate was fired in 2012 due to misbehavior.[10][12]
