Qingshanqiao (simplified Chinese: 青山桥; traditional Chinese: 青山橋; pinyin: Qīngshānqiáo) is a town in Ningxiang County, Changsha City, Hunan Province, People's Republic of China. It borders Loudi in the west, Lianyuan in the northwest, Longtian Town and Shatian Township in the north, Liushahe Town (流沙河镇) in the east, and Xiangxiang in the south. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 52,000 and an area of 138 square kilometers.

Cityscape

It include sixteen villages and one community:Qingshanqiao Community (青山桥社区), Furong Village (芙蓉村), Youyuan Village (友园村), Zhufeng Village (竹峰村), Tianping Village (田坪村), Taihe Village (太和村), Qiaobei Village (桥北村), Lishi Village (栗狮村), Shiqiaopu Village (石桥铺村), Shangliu Village (上流村), Louxia New Village (楼霞新村), Huayuantang Village (花园堂村), Yongfeng Village (永锋村), Zaofu Village (造福村), Xintian Village (心田村), Tianxinpu Village (田心铺村), and Ganjiang Village (甘江村).

Tianping Reservoir (田坪水库) is the second largest body of water in Ningxiang County and the second largest reservoir in Ningxiang County, is the source of the Wei River (沩水河).[1]

Chu River (楚江) is known as "Liushahe" (流沙河), a tributary of the Wei River (沩水), it flows through Qingshanqiao Town.[1]

Economy

Tea and tobacco are important to the economy.[1]

The Hongjia Mountain (洪家大山) and Jianding Mountain (尖顶山) contain the manganese ore. Xintian Village's soil contain a rich supply of potassium. The Furong Mountain contains a rich supply of granite.[2]

Education

There are four primary school located with the town limits:Qingshanqiao Central School (青山中心学校), Tianping School (田坪完小), Huayuan School (花园完小), Xintian School (心田完小).Public junior high school in the town include the Qingshanqiao Junior High School (青山桥中学) and Xintian Junior High School (心田中学).

Culture

Puji Temple, is a Buddhist temple located in Qingshanqiao Town.

Huaguxi is the most influence local theater.

Transportation

Among the major highways that connect Qingshanqiao Town to the rest of Hunan Province include S209, which runs south through Shangliu Village to Hutian Town, Xiangxiang City (湘乡市壶天镇) and north through Qiaobei Village to Liushahe Town. The S311, which runs east through Xintian Village and Tianxinpu Village to Xiangxiang City and the west through Youyuan Village to Lianyuan City. The Louyiheng Highway (娄益衡高速公路) in the Hunan Province, which heads to Loudi City, Yiyang City (益阳市) and Hengyang City (衡阳市) through the town. The 1810 Provincial Highway (1810省道) from Yutan Town, running through Shuangfupu Town, Hengshi Town, Laoliangcang Town, Liushahe Town, Qingshanqiao Town to Loudi City. The 1816 Provincial Highway (1816省道) from Anhua County (安化县), running through Longtian Town, Qingshanqiao Town to Xiangxiang City.

The Luzan Railway (洛湛铁路), from Luoyang City, Henan Province to Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, through Qingshanqiao Town at Qingshanqiao Railway Station (青山桥火车站).

Attractions

Puji Temple (普济寺) is the largest buddhism temple in Furong Mountain (芙蓉山) of Furong Village, it was built in the Yuan Dynasty and later destroyed and rebuilt several times. It was last rebuilt in 2013.Buddha Qing'an is the main target of worship, also worship the Three Saints of the West (西方三圣), Guan Yu (关圣帝君).

Shangliu Temple (上流寺), also is a buddhism temple in the town, is was built in the late Qing Dynasty, this temple worship the Buddha Guanyin and the Jade Emperor (观音菩萨和玉皇大帝).
