History

Qedis was formed in 2003 by a group of ex-Arthur Andersen consultants.[1] The initial funding for the start-up was provided by Paramjit Uppal (CEO) and QED Business Systems Ltd.

Qedis began with the name ‘QED IS Consulting'. The name is derived from QED which in Latin is "quod erat demonstrandum" meaning "that which was to be demonstrated". The vision was to create a different kind of consulting – something that Qedis now refers to as ‘Next Generation Consulting’.[2] In 2005, after two years of growth and to represent the development of a broader based consultancy from one with an initial IT focus, QED IS Consulting rebranded itself to become "Qedis". In 2013, after 5 years of working with North Highland (a fellow member of Cordence Worldwide), qedis changed its name and rebranded to North Highland, which is now its parent company.

The UK Head Office is on Southampton Street in Covent Garden. A secondary office in Maidenhead provides the site for commercial support functions.[3]

Founder Paramjit Uppal has since moved on from Qedis and North Highland and founded a new London based company ANDigital

Qedis has been featured in numerous publications for its outstanding working culture and is renowned for recruiting high quality applicants.[5] The firm was the only management consultancy to achieve a "3 Star Rating" [6] in 2011, and is currently ranked 7th in "Sunday Times Best Small Companies to Work For" list.[7]

Qedis is considered the market leader for Change Management services, and dominated award nominations within this category at the Management Consulting Awards 2012.[8]

Qedis was awarded the Corporate Investor of the Year Award in 2010 by Bright Futures, a National Student Organisation.,[9] and received IIP status on 9 February 2006. The firm was successfully reassessed in 2009.[10]
