Pushpa Bhuyan is an Indian classical dancer specialising in the Indian classical dance forms of Bharatanatyam and Sattriya.[1][2] She comes from the Northeast Indian state of Assam,[1] and learned sattriya from Bhabananda Barbayan[3] She later studied bharatanatyam under Guru Mangudi Dorairaja Iyer.[4][5] She has also tutored other dancers.[5] A recipient of the North East Television Lifetime Achievement Award,[1][5] Pushpa Bhuyan was honoured by the Government of India, in 2002, with the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri[6]
