Puran Singh Bundela

Puran Singh Bundela is an Indian politician. He is a three-time Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Mahroni constituency in Uttar Pradesh.

Early career

Puran Singh Bundela started off his political career from the party of Indian National Congress and was chosen as a member of Uttar Pradesh Assembly for the first time in the 1980s. Since then, he's been fighting elections from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which he left six months prior to 2007 General Elections[1] and joined hands with Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) but his ticket was promptly cut and was given to Shri Ram Kumar Tewari, once his ally in BJP. He finally fought from Congress party but was defeated by the former candidate by a margin of more than 24,000 votes.

Association with Raja Bhaiya

In 2002 Puran Singh Bundela accused Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya an Independent MLA from Kunda, India allegedly threatening him and trying to abduct him for switching loyalty from him towards the BSP. Raja Bhaiya was arrested in the early morning at 3:00 a.m.on the orders of Mayawati, then Chief Minister and was jailed.[2][3] Later POTA was slapped on him.
