Pugilina morio, common name : the Giant Hairy Melongena, is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Melongenidae, the crown conches and their allies.[1]

Distribution

This species is found in the Atlantic Ocean along Angola, the Canary Islands, Cape Verde, Gabon, Mauritania; in the Caribbean Sea and the Lesser Antilles and along Brazil.

Description

The adult shell size varies between 75 mm and 270 mm.

Human use

in traditional Brazilian medicine in the Northeast of Brazil, Pugilina morio is used as zootherapeutical product for the treatment of sexual impotence.[2]
