Publius Cornelius Scipio Asina

Publius Cornelius Scipio Asina was a Roman statesman who served as Consul in 221 BC and Interrex in 217 BC.[1]

Publius Cornelius was a member of the Cornelii Scipiones, a branch of the Cornelii family. He was the son of Gnaeus Cornelius Scipio Asina. In 221 BC, Publius Cornelius was elected Consul alongside Marcus Minucius Rufus. In 217 BC, he was chosen as Interrex to conduct consular elections.[2] The election was marked by a contentious struggle between the plebeians and patricians.
