Pseudo-Augustine

Pseudo-Augustine is a collection of sermons claimed to be authored by Augustine of Hippo. (For the Latin text, see Migne's Patrologia Latina volume 40, columns 1233-1358.) However, since the 17th century, there has been a scholarly consensus that they are 14th century forgeries, with an apparent intention of strengthening the mendicant Order of Saint Augustine's historically dubious claims to have been established at Hippo by St. Augustine himself.[1]
