Protrader is a multi-asset electronic trading platform^[1] used by brokers, banks, exchanges, hedge-funds and online retail foreign exchange traders. The software^[2] allows to trade on all major markets including: Forex, stocks, futures, options and CFDs. The platform consists of three functional parts: server, back office and front-end suite: desktop, web, mobile.

History

PFSOFT^[3][4] as a developer, released ProChart and ProQoutes terminals in 2003. In 2005 it becomes multi-asset and world's first .NET-based financial software. Beta version of WEB terminal has been released in 2008. Protrader^[5] 2 has been released in 2011.^[6] In 2013 PFSoft launched iOS and Android version^[7] of Protrader. Late 2013 Protrader 3 was released by PFSOFT. In 2014 PFSoft added to Protrader 3 features like: "Option Master",^[8] "Protrader Exchange Solution".

Broker-side Functionality

Server

The Protrader server is developed in JAVA. It operates on any J2EE-certified application server under UNIX and LINUX and is compatible with the Oracle and PostgreSQL database management systems. The software supports cluster technology that is based on cloud computing and can develop individual solutions for hardware architecture according to server load and user location.

Back Office

Back office allows managing unlimited number of connections to data and liquidity providers supported. Payment system, reports, working with instruments and groups, creation of hierarchical user structure is not the whole list of features that Protrader Back office has:

• Users/Accounts - The software has a rule-based control that enables easy creation of hierarchical structures of users.
• Revenue Plans - designing revenue plans for users or instruments by setting commissions, spreads, swaps, and rebates, that can be assigned to a specific user or user group.
• Risk management - Brokers are able to manage orders and positions through back office, controlling all trading operation made by clients.
• Liquidity - Clients’ orders can be executed locally or routed to exchanges, ECNs, brokers, market makers or banks.
• Instruments set - The platform provides set of instrument setting: pip size, lot size, lot step, min and max lot, crosses and various margin formulas depending on asset, etc.
• Reports - About 50 report types are provided as standard, which cover all events generated by users and by the system.

Database

PostgreSQL and Oracle supported. Special section for DB administrators - provides direct access to database from Back Office. Built-in SQL query window. Easy non-console based import/export/backup of databases.

Trader-side Functionality

User interface allows to create as many workspaces as required with using multi-lingual ability. Users are able to manage all panels, create custom columns for 10 different panels in C# or MQL4, use exotic chart types and preinstalled indicators. Price level monitoring can be set by predefined colors to market depth levels to easily track the range and other indicative levels. Filled orders panel allows users to see trade summaries for any time period and trades can be grouped by symbol, side, order type, account, or instrument type. In position and orders users can manage their needs with hot buttons. Trading Modules are including Fund Management - professional asset management tool, Multi Account Management (MAM) and AlgoStudio^[9] - Full cycle development suite for algorithmic trading supporting MQL4* and C#.
