Prosper Independent School District (PISD or Prosper ISD) is a public school district based in Prosper, Texas (USA). Located in Collin County, a portion of the district extends into Denton County.

P.I.S.D. is classified by the University Interscholastic League as a 4AAAA School District. The high school enrollment is approximately 1257.[2] The student body of Prosper High School (as of the 2009-2010 School Year) consists of: 257 Freshmen, 249 Sophomores, 192 Juniors, 172 Seniors. Prosper continues to experience large population growth, and PISD expects to add new schools as the need arises.

The School Board passed a $710 million bond package in November 2007 and used the funds for: upgrades to the existing football stadium, a new elementary school, a new middle school, upgrades to the two previously existing elementary schools, a new transportation facility, a new Agriculture/Small Animal Facility, and a brand-new (opened 2009-2010 school year) 120 Million Dollar, State-Of-The-Art High School.

In 2011, the school district was rated "Recognized" by the Texas Education Agency.

In October 2011, 4844[3] students attended Prosper ISD schools. Ethnic make-up of the District: White/Caucasian 74%, Hispanic 13%, African American 9%, Other 4%[3]
