Promiscuous Judge

A Promiscuous Judge (Spanish: Juez Promiscuo) is a puisne judicial officer in Colombia who administers both civil and criminal law and may dispense summary justice, they represent the lowest part of the Colombian judicial system.[1] A justice of the peace of sorts, he or she is appointed to serve in a municipality or corregimiento outside the periphery of a higher court. Promiscuous judges may also be appointed to handle family matters, like performing and dissolving civil unions and civil marriages.[2]
