Development
After finishing Kaadhal Solla Vandhen, In July 2012 Boopathi Pandiyan announced his next project Patthathu Yaanai with Vishal Krishna uniting with him after Malaikottai but the project was shelved,[2] due to this Shreya reddy was upset with director for shelving the film.[3] Boopathy announced that Telugu actor Gopichand would be the hero making his comeback to Tamil cinema after acting in Jayam.[4][5] Nayanthara was selected as heroine.[6][7] In August 2012, director Boopathy Pandian announced that he walked out of the project and quoted
"The film remained in the discussion stage for a long time and the makers kept interfering with my script. They kept insisting on many changes, which they felt would suit Gopichand's image.I soon began to lose confidence over my own script. These differences of opinion caused me tremendous mental torture. This was when I decided to opt out of the film."[8]
However, the script and the cast will remain the same. The makers are in talks with a couple of directors in Kollywood to helm the project.[9]
It was reported that the film is titled Jagan Mohan IPS in Telugu and a different title is being worked out for the Tamil version.[10]
The film has been on hold for a while after director Bhoopathi Pandian walked out of the project. Veteran director B. Gopal has taken over project. The film’s story will now be altered substantially and work is currently going on in this area. The film will go back on to the floors from mid April.[11][12][13]
