Maria Christina of Saxony (Maria Christina Albertina Carolina; 7 December 1770 – 24 November 1851) was a Princess of Saxony and Duchess of Courland. She was the Princess of Carignano and later Princess of Montléart by marriage.

Biography

Maria Christina was the only child of Prince Carl Christian Joseph of Saxony, himself son of King August III of Poland, and his morganatic wife Countess Franciszka Corvin-Krasińska. Her parents married secretly in Warsaw in 1760. Her mother was created a princess (Princess Franziska Corvin-Krasińska) in her own right due to her marriage.

In Turin on 24 October 1797, she married Charles Emmanuel, Prince of Carignano. They had two children. Charles Emmanuel died three years after his marriage in a French prison.

On 1 February 1816 she was remarried in Paris to Julius Maximilian de Montléart, Prince of Montléart (1787–1865). Her stepson, Prince de Montléart, developed the district of Gallitzinberg in Vienna and built the Schloss Wilhelminenberg there.

Maria Christina died in Paris on 24 November 1851 at age 80.
