Charlotte Amalie Wilhelmine of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Plön (Charlotte Amalie Vilhelmine af Slesvig-Holsten-Sønderborg-Pløn in Danish) (23 April 1744 – 11 October 1770), was a princess of the Duchy of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Plön (or Holstein-Plön), a cadet branch of the Danish royal family as daughter of Frederick Charles, Duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Plön and his noble wife Christine Armgard of the comital Reventlow family.

Life

Considerable as a very desirable bride for her dowry, status as princess, and beauty, she was married in 26 May 1762 to Frederick Christian I, Duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg. They had seven children:

The couple spent some of her wealth to build the new Augustenburg Palace.

Charlotte Amalie died in Augustenburg aged 26, seven days after the birth of her last child. Her death was probably for childbirth complications.
