Predixion Software is a software company focusing on general analytics, predictive analytics, and data management. It was founded in late 2009 with sales and marketing headquarters in Aliso Viejo, CA and development offices in Redmond, WA.[1][2][3]

Overview

The Predixion predictive analytics platform, sold under the brand name, Predixion Insight, uses wizard-driven interfaces for model creation and deployment of a predictive analytics workflow into businesses.[4] The software user interface (UI) uses the Microsoft Excel environment with two add-in-tool-bar ribbons with the product’s installation.[5][6]

Predixion Insight is a predictive analytics platform that is natively integrated with the Microsoft Business Intelligence (BI) stack and is fully integrated with Microsoft SQL Server and other Big Data sets including: PivotalHD and Pivotal Greenplum, “R” Programming Language,[7] Cloudera CDH and Impala,[8] and open source Hadoop with HIVE.[9] The Predixion Insight deployment framework which Predixion refers to as the "Machine Learning Semantic Model™ (MLSM)" technology is targeted at model portability and repeatability.[10] The MLSM technology aims to enable sharing models across an enterprise and automating predictions directly from source data to line-of-business applications in BI platforms, clinical systems or Predixion’s thin client app for PCs and mobile devices. The MLSM technology also enables deployment of predictive models directly on to machines or devices. The Predixion Insight platform is agnostic and designed for enterprise-wide use across all industries.[11][12]

History

2009 Predixion Software was established in late 2009 with four founding partners Stuart Frost (founder of DATAllegro,[13] acquired by Microsoft in 2008), Simon Arkell,[14][15] Stephen DeSantis and Jamie MacLennan[16]

2010 The first product release was announced in September 2010;[5] company closed its Series A Funding Round in October 2010 for $5 million led by DFJ Frontier.[17]

2011 Predixion accepted into the EMC Select Program; EMC led company’s Series B Funding Round in September 2011 for $6 million.[18]

Early 2012, company released predictive analytics solution targeting the healthcare[19] industry’s hospital readmissions needs.[20][21][22]

2013 The Readmissions solution earned the Microsoft Health Users Group Innovation Award in early 2013; company also launched a major platform release in April 2013.[23] In August, Predixion closed largest funding round at $20 million[24] for Series C led by Accenture and GE.[25]

2014 In January, company released “Predixion in the Classroom”[26][27] program allowing students and teachers free access to the Predixion Insight platform and all of Predixion’s labs, courseware and other materials for educational purposes. In March, Predixion Software named by Gartner a Significant Vendor in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant Report.”.[28] In April, Accenture launched new Life Sciences Solutions Accenture Digital.[29][30] In June, company was recognized in the Advanced Analytics Market by Hurwitz & Associates”.[31][32][33] In October, Predixion joined the New Salesforce.com Analytics Cloud Ecosystem,[34] released version 4.0 of their flagship product Predixion Insight™[35][36] In December, the company relocated corporate headquarters to Aliso Viejo, CA in order to accommodate its rapid growth.
